Lucy is at such a fun age right now. She's just a few months shy of being 3 and while we have our "terrible two" moments, most of the time she's very enjoyable.
She is a talker. She is always talking or singing or just making noise in general. She cracks me up with the things she says. Right now Lucy is all about the "love". She loves everything. But you have to hear it the way we hear it -Yuv. Ask her what her favotire color is and she'll say PINK! But then she'll continue to say,"I yuv pink!, it's my favorite color."
The other night we were looking at some book and she pointed to the oval shape and said, "I yuv ovals. Ovals are my favorite shape!" Then not a few minutes later with the news on in the background Lucy hears the word firewall. As she's happily playing with her book and without missing a beat says "I yuv firewalls"! I looked at her and laughed. I said, "you don't even know what a firewall is."
She's also started making up her own words to many of the familiar tunes she sings. The other night we were out driving and she saw the field corn. At first she thought it was tall, tall grass. After we explained that it was corn she said, "Mmmm, I yuv corn." And then proceeded to sing "I love corn" to the tune of the Sesame Street song, People in Your Neighborhood. Dan and I just laughed.
Lucy has known her alphabet for quite a while now, both saying the letters and identifying them. She shocked me the other night when we were playing with her magna-doodle. I was writing out the ABC's and just happened to think, I wonder if she knows any of the letter sounds. I really didn't expect her to know any, but when I asked her what sound letter B makes, she said bah, bah. I was completely taken back. I then asked her a few more and she knew, D, M, S and T. I guess she's learning something from the excessize amount of tv we've been watching since I've been confined to the couch.
I can't believe that my baby is almost 3. It doesn't seem possible. She is just such a fun little girl the joy of our lives.
