I am seriously considering buying one of these.

After having a child and reaching my mid thirties, regular swimsuits are so unflattering on me. I mean really, are swimsuits flattering on anyone over a size 8? If they are, I have yet to find one that hides my *ahem* lower half. I just don't think the world needs to see all my flab.

I currently have a 2 piece tankini that has a little skirt on the bottom, but it really doesn't cover much. And the top is a halter style and last year I had to keep adjusting it cause Lucy would pull on my top and I was constantly worried I was going to have a wardrobe malfunction.

I like the look of these suits more than others I've seen but they are a little pricey. But then again, you'd pay that for a suit with a fraction of the material.

I want to take Lucy to the pool and water park this summer and I think I'd feel more comfortable in something like this that gives me a little more coverage.

So what do you think? Should I go for it?

I had a one piece with a skirt. It was ok until wet, then it was very heavy and uncomfortable. Those have a lot more material, I can't imagine what they would be like when wet. I don't like wearing a regular suit either but after seeing other people and what they wear, I don't look so bad! What about the swim shorts?

I bought a suit from Lands End last year that has a very modest swim skirt. The outer material on the skirt was very lightweight and still worked great even when it was wet. It was called a "swim mini" but was pretty long on me. The top is still pretty revealing but I don't think I bought the most modest one. I just checked their website and they do have the swim T's too. I very strongly prefer to have a 2 piece suit to make bathroom trips with kids in tow that much faster.

1. You are ONLY in your mid-30s.
2. Your pics don't look like you're exactly packing on the pounds my dear.
3. Try on your current suit for your husband....what is his reaction? If he likes it...no need to go looking for the uber-modest one.

Hope That Helps.

My fears with that suit would be a) tan lines (I wear tank tops in the summer and with a cap sleeve tan line...yikes!) and b) what Nicki said - bathroom breaks with that. It seems like it would be complicated to slip on and off quickly!

But otherwise I really like them. I don't think you need to be so modest about your body (I think you look great) but if you are I think they are at least cute!
