Paula Dean's Ultimate Coffee Cake

Ok, I am not going to lie and pretend there is anything remotely healthy about this, but sometimes ya just gotta live a little.

I love this recipe. I first tried this recipe at a Dinner Club get-together. We were doing a breakfast themed dinner and my friend Amanda brought this bread. It is so incredibley simple and the best part is you assemble it the night before so when you wake up in the morning, you just pop it in the oven. Couldn't be simpler!

I took some pictures this time, but I apologize for the horrible quality. My photo taking skills are poorly lacking, but at least you will get the idea.

First, grab your large Bundt pan and put 16-18 frozen dough balls in it. It won't look like much and you'll be tempted to throw in a few more balls of dough...don't. I found out the hard way that it's not a good idea! :)

Next, open a box of this, and sprinkle it on top of the frozen dough. Make sure you get the "cook and serve" not the instant!

Add your brown sugar and chopped pecans next. Of course, the nuts are optional.

And finally, pour 1 stick of melted butter over the whole thing. It has to be good with a stick of butter? Right?

After you have it all assembled, cover the pan tightly with plastic wrap and let it sit out over night. About 8-10 hours. In the morning when you check it, it'll look like this

See what I mean about putting in too many balls of dough. It's amazing how those little things expand!

Take off the plastic wrap and bake! Easy Peasy!

When it comes out of the oven it looks like this! How good does that look? I couldn't wait to dig in as you can see. :)

This is such a great recipe to have on hand if you have company staying with you or you just need a quick breakfast. I made this for Christmas morning. It was so nice to have all the prep work done ahead of time.

Paula Dean's Ultimate Coffe Cake

16-18 unbaked frozen dinner rolls
1 small package regular butterscotch pudding mix- not instant!
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 chopped pecans
1 stick butter, melted.

The night before, place frozen dinner rolls in well greased Bundt pan. Sprinkly dry pudding mix over rolls. Then sprinkle brown sugar over that and then the pecans over the brown sugar. Finally, pour melted butter over all. Cover tightly with plastic wrap to prevent a hard crust from forming. Let rise overnight at room temperature about 8-10 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let sit in pan and cool for 5 minutes and then turn pan over onto plate or serving platter. Pull chunks apart with a fork.

*If your concerned about the butterscotch pudding mix, the rolls do not taste anything like butterscotch.

I made the mistake of adding extra and i didn't cover with plastic rap...needless to say it was over the edges. Scared me!

Honestly, you can't tell it's butterscotch. I don't really like butterscotch myself, but I love these rolls.
